My Quince
Locations: Wheeling, West Virginia
My Theme: Traditional with a twist
My Favorite Theme/Decoration/Favor Ideas: I'm having large dark blue castles with lots of lights, because they're pretty, and remind me of New York, where I was born. We are having lots of balloons to match the castles, purple, dark and light blue mixed. I'll enter a large balloon archway, made by a local balloon artist. I'm giving out chocolate favors that have my name and my birthdate on them.
My Dress Designer: Alyce
My Dress Color: Teal
My Cress Style: Ball Gown
My Dama Dress Color: Variety, but very formal,
My Chambelan/Caballero Style: Tuxedo
My Favorite Dresses/Accessories/Fashion Ideas: My Chambelan is wearing a cool white tux, with a teal vest to match my gown!! The other Chambelanes are wearing black tuxes, with the teal colored vest too. My dress is an awesome teal ballgown with silver glitter, strapless, with a very tight fitted bodice, and a full hoop skirt. I'm wearing my pointe ballet shoes for my dances, before the changing of the shoes, then my high heels will be silver.
My Formal Dance Song/Waltz: La Isla Bonita / Tiempo de Vals
My Favorite Quince Songs: Tiempo de Vals is my favorite, and it's the song for my waltz of the court. My dance with my Chambelan is La Isla Bonita. My dance with my father is De Nina a Mujer.
My Band/DJ: Don't know yet.
My Gift Registry: Quinceanera Boutique
Damas: Rachel, Jenny, Anne, Katie, Deryn, Olivia, Trista, Emily
About My Quince: It's going to be very formal, and traditional too. But we are making some changes, because I'm in a community that has almost no Hispanic population. We're planning to introduce the community to the tradition of the Quinceanera. We are still playing mostly Spanish music, and doing the traditions like la ultima muneca and the changing of the shoes, etc. It's in an elegant ballroom in a historic local hotel.
